Solar

Every roof on the park is
a surface you are not using.

Solar sized to the site, from the buildings you already run to the homes standing on it.

A park runs on electricity all season, and that bill only ever goes one way.

Reception, the laundry, shower blocks, pool plant, site lighting, and now charge points for guests turning up in electric cars. It is a steady daytime load through exactly the months the sun is doing the most work. That is an unusually good match, and it is why solar tends to stack up better on a holiday park than on an ordinary house.

Where it goes

The buildings you already run

Reception, laundry, shower blocks and pool plant draw hardest in daylight through the season. Panels on those roofs offset load you are paying for right now.

Your hire fleet

Homes you own and let out are your electricity bill, not somebody else’s. Fitting those first is usually where the arithmetic is clearest.

Unit by unit across the park

Owner-occupied homes can be done individually, at the owner’s request, without the park carrying anything or having to administer it.

Ground-mounted, where there is room

Not every park is short of space. Where there is unused ground away from the pitches, an array on it is worth looking at.

How we get there

1

A site survey

We walk the park, look at the roofs and the ground, and read your actual consumption rather than guessing at it.

2

A design and a plain number

You get what would fit, what it would generate and what it would cost, in writing, before anything is agreed.

3

Installed around your season

Work is planned around occupancy. Our accredited engineering partner works outside and keeps the site open.

4

Monitored and maintained

You can see what every array is producing, and servicing is arranged rather than left to you to remember.

The things operators ask first

What does it cost us?

That depends on the scale and on which roofs are involved, and we are not going to pretend otherwise before we have seen the site. The survey ends with a written figure and the options for how it is funded.

Do we need planning permission?

Roof-mounted solar on commercial buildings is often permitted development, but it depends on the building, the site and any designations over it. We check before anything is designed.

Will it disrupt the season?

Roof work is external and is scheduled around occupancy. On most parks it lands in the shoulder months for exactly that reason.

What about homes we do not own?

Those are the owner’s decision, not yours. We deal with owners directly and you are not responsible for the arrangement.

What if the park changes hands?

Systems are fixed to the buildings and stay with them. Any agreement is written so it can pass on, and we will go through that with you and your solicitor.

What sits behind it

Start with a look at the site

We will walk the park, read your consumption and come back with what it would take. No commitment either way.

Generation and savings vary considerably with roof area, pitch, aspect, shading and site consumption. Any figures we give are estimates for your site, not guarantees, and output falls substantially in the winter months. Planning and permitted development status depends on the building and the site and is confirmed case by case. Funding and grant eligibility is checked individually and is not available on every property type. MCS compliance applies where applicable.
